Our Story

Gathered in France.

We're an English family of seven: two grown-ups, five children, and a farmhouse in the French countryside that is never, ever quiet.

When we lived in England, I used to scroll through photos of French kitchens and dream a little. The long wooden tables. The mismatched chairs. Jugs of wildflowers that nobody had arranged. Old linen, old pottery, old everything, all used every single day. I would have loved to find somewhere that brought that feeling home to me. Somewhere real, not staged.

So when life brought us here, and we found ourselves living that life, it felt like something worth sharing.

Our life, a little bit at a time

Most weekends start early, with a flask of coffee and a car full of children, heading to the village vide-greniers and brocantes. The kids have become brilliant little treasure hunters. There's always someone holding up a chipped enamel jug or a basket with a broken handle and asking, "Can we keep this one?"

Every vintage piece in our shop has been found like that: by hand, one at a time, then cleaned and looked after, and sent to you with a little of its story.

A family home, not a showroom

With five children, our home has to work hard. Muddy boots by the door, homework on the kitchen table, flowers in whatever jug is nearest. So everything we choose has to be beautiful and able to live a real life. That's the vibe we love, and it's what we'd love to help you bring into your own home, wherever you are in the UK.

What you'll find here

  • French vintage & brocante: one-off pieces we've found ourselves. When they're gone, they're gone.
  • Seasonal collections: new pieces we've chosen to sit alongside the old, like wreaths, lanterns, candlesticks and everlasting flowers, picked with a florist's eye. They're always clearly marked as new, never passed off as vintage.

Wrapped as if it were for us

We think opening the parcel should feel like part of it. Our vintage pieces are wrapped by hand in tissue and tied with string, with a little sprig of something from the garden, the way we'd want to receive them ourselves.

Thank you for being here, and for letting a bit of our French farmhouse life find its way to yours.

Avec amour,
La Ferme Anglaise
