Vintage French Salins Faience Tureen, Cream Brown Glaze, Oval Platter (1950s-70s)
A vintage French covered serving dish with its matching oval platter, made by the Faïencerie de Salins in the Jura, eastern France, and stamped "Salins France Inaltérable" on the base.
The dish and lid have softly scalloped sides in a creamy white glaze, edged in deep brown, with a looped handle on the lid. It suits vegetables, stews or a gratin at the table, and looks just as good on a dresser shelf.
